Mr Anderson: Thank you, Mr President. I wonder, when the mover is summing up, if he could clarify the helpful information that was provided at the presentation to Tynwald Members about the usage from the War Memorial to the Sea Terminal, because I believe that was part of the reasoning in the length of the track going as far as the War Memorial and not going as far as the Sea Terminal. I understand from the officers who made that presentation that there were not significant numbers of people using that part of the promenade, and that, I presume, is one of the reasons why the proposal is as it is on the Order Paper. I would like to congratulate the Department in turning the efficiency of the Tramway around in such a short time, (Several Members: Hear, hear.) but we must realise that, once the general public realised that it was under threat, it was going to be used very heavily this summer, and I think the proposal to analyse it over the next two years will be very important, seeing if those figures stack up and continue. If the Minister could, when he sums up this afternoon, maybe just make sure that he does have the information about the usage from the War Memorial to the Sea Terminal. Thank you. |
