Several views dating from 1988 of the Diverter Pulley which was and still is located underneath York Road, close to where the former Cable Car Depot and Winding House were located. By the time these images were recorded, the Diverter Pulley had been disused for almost 60 years. This pulley was one of a number, which allowed the cable to make a turn of 90 degrees, which was necessary to allow it to continue its journey down to the terminus at the bottom of Broadway.
