Perhaps prompted by the recent offer from the MERS to underwrite the operation of the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a period on and around the line’s 125th anniversary, a Tynwald question paper dated August 18th includes a number of questions focusing on the Island's heritage railways.
As of Monday, August 17th, the Manx Electric Railway Society still awaits any indication from Mr Baker as to whether its offer to underwrite a service on the SMR is of any interest to the Department of Infrastructure.
