With services on the Manx Electric Railway & Snaefell Mountain Railway currently at a standstill, not to be left out the Isle of Man Railway is now also experiencing problems. Due to a lack of serviceable locomotives, a reduced service on the Port Erin line becomes effective as from Thursday 19th October. Similar problems effected the IOMR the same time last year. The reasons for the lack of serviceable locomotives continues to be the subject of much local speculation. The IMR's controversial, expensive, little used and unreliable diesel locomotive No.21, unkindly referred to in some quarters as the 'Cabbage' remains out of service in long term storage awaiting repairs.

Details of the revised services can be found on Isle of Man Transport's website.

Manx Radio have also covered the story on their website.
