“A newly qualified farrier has told Manx Radio he ‘jumped at the chance’ of completing his training on Island.
Luke Collison has undertaken a four-year ‘on the job apprenticeship’ with the Douglas Bay Horse Tram Service.
He’s responsible for looking after the horses' hoofs – a profession which combines blacksmith and veterinary skills.
Luke, who was on-hand as the horse tram season got underway last week, told Manx Radio the training was something he’s always wanted to do.”
Services on the Horse Tramway for 2024 commenced on Thursday, March 28, for full details of the service and timetable please visit: https://www.iombusandrail.im/heritage/
