Give someone the gift of going places this Christmas. Isle of Man Railways has a range of products available including tickets for the Dining Car during the Christmas holiday or gift vouchers to obtain new smart card annual passes for the Island’s heritage railways. Brand new for Christmas 2014 is a 2GB USB memory stick in the shape of No.4 Loch steam locomotive, priced at £10 and available from Douglas Station, the Welcome Centre and the Manx Museum. Isle of Man Transport will be introducing smart cards next year and is pleased to announce a year-long Isle of Man Railways Go Platinum Rail card. It will be priced £75 for adults, £37.50 for children, the same as this year’s annual season passes. However, the Go Platinum Rail cards will activate on first use and will be valid for one year from first use. Steam or electric only cards will be available at £60 for adults, £30 per child. Alternatively, a Go Rail Card can be purchased, which will entitle the holder to half fares on all scheduled rail services. The cost is £20 for adults, £12.50 for children. All annual passes require a photograph of the holder so they will need to be obtained next year using the Go rail card gift vouchers. Alternatively, tickets are now on sale for the Blow Away The Cobwebs trains on 27 December. Choose from pie and mash lunch or a three course steak on a plate dinner – all served in the sumptuous surroundings of the Isle of Man Steam Railway’s Dining Car. Tickets are £25 for lunch or £40 for dinner, both including train travel. Please note the Blow Away the Cobwebs fireman’s breakfast is fully booked. For more information and to book or to buy gift vouchers email [email protected] or tel 01624 697457. Additionally, the 2015 IoM Railways calendar is available from Douglas Station and the Welcome Centre, priced £5. · Bookings are also being taken for Christmas party lunches, dinners and the New Year’s Eve black tie event – full details at www.iombusandrail.info.
