Douglas Promenade Latest

"The halt on all construction works as part of government measures to control coronavirus has led to the Promenade project being put on pause too.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle announced last week a stop on all non-essential construction work.

This includes the £25m Promenade reconstruction project, which has already been dogged by delays and technical problems.

Its original completion date of October this year has been put back to August 2021, having first slipped to April and then June 2021.

There had been hopes that the cancellation of this year’s TT could be used to speed up the work.

Parking on the Loch Promenade walkway has also been suspended due to the Covid crisis."
