Paul Blowfield has kindly provided details of a private charter on the IMR which is open to members of the MER Society. The charter has been arranged by a group who are visiting the Island.

A train which is planned to be hauled by No.8 'Fenella' will leave Port Erin a little after 14.00, crossing service trains at Colby and Port Soderick. Return from Douglas will be circa 17.30, with photo run-pasts at selected stations and refreshment stops at Castletown and Port St Mary. Arrival back at Port Erin by 22.00. Fare £13.00 return, or £8.00 single.

The train is not being run as a commercial operation, but is being paid for by 7 of our group, so it will operate irrespective of how many 'extra' passengers there are. The timings I have requested are :

PORT ERIN dep 14.18
COLBY 14.30-14.40 (cross down train)
CASTLETOWN 14.50-15.25 (layover)
PORT SODERICK 15.50-16.05 (cross down train)
DOUGLAS 16.15

DOUGLAS dep 17.30
PORT SODERICK 17.45-18.00 (2 runpasts through station area for photographers)
SANTON 18.10- 18.25 (2 runpasts through station area for photographers)
CASTLETOWN 18.40-20.10 (2 runpasts through station area for photographers upon arrival, then layover)
PORT ST MARY 20.30-21.55 (layover)
PORT ERIN 22.00

It would be helpful for anyone wishing to travel to e-mail me beforehand, but 'pay-on-the-day' is OK.
