EASTER 2026 sees all the Island's Electric Railways along with the steam railways and horse trams in operation.
Full details of the services on the MER, SMR, IMR, and Horse Tramway can be found HERE. Groudle Services for Easter Sunday & Monday 5th & 6th April 10am – 4:30pm are also in operation. Full details HERE.
In the case of the MER and IMR, services have reverted to the published timetables following a pause in industrial action by the Island's bus drivers, which saw additional early morning and evening 'commuter' trains in operation on the heritage lines to help mitigate the effects of the bus strikes.
Earlier this week, Chief Minister Alf Cannan, responding to a question in the House of Keys this week from Arbory, Castletown, and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse, stated:
“Last week, the Department of Infrastructure issued a further pay offer, the seventh such offer, which was, I understand, rejected through an informal ballot of Unite Union members. The offer represented a significant annual increase in pay for bus drivers and harmonised pay across all drivers.”
As far as the bus drivers’ dispute is concerned, the latest is that drivers are being asked to vote on a ‘final’, eighth offer made by the government to resolve the dispute.
Bus Vannin services across the Isle of Man are set to run ‘as usual’ across the Easter weekend, but with some ‘minor adjustments’ following recent bus strikes.
Over Easter and through much of April, the MER is operating its 'C' timetable - as shown here. (Monday April 20th and 27th have no service.)
Full details of services throughout April and the rest of 2026 Isle of Man Transport's railways are available from the Isle of Man Transport website, on which it is noted: "All information correct at time of printing. Operational constraints may apply. Please confirm latest updates via our website www.rail.im or Facebook page /loMRailways prior to travelling."
