"A design for restoring the horse tram tracks from the War Memorial to the Sea Terminal is due to be considered by Treasury.
If support is given, Tynwald members will then be asked if they'll give the project the go-ahead.
Tynwald originally voted in favour of the track in 2017, but the money was used elsewhere on the promenade scheme.
In Tynwald questions, Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood was asked for a progress report. "

A transcript from today's sitting (not official Tynwald Hansard) is reproduced as follows:
Mr Glover: Gura mie eu, Eaghtyrane. I seek to ask the Minister for Infrastructure when her Department will honour the Tynwald resolution of January 2017, that a single line tram track be laid between the Sea Terminal and the war memorial.
The Minister for Infrastructure (Dr Haywood): I thank the Honourable Member for the question. The Department has been working on a design project plan and business case for a single line of tram tracks to the Sea Terminal. This is under consideration by the Department and a policy development meeting was held on 8 April. Once the business case has been completed, it will be presented for consideration by Treasury before submission to Tynwald.
Mr Glover: Gura mie eu, Eaghtyrane. I thank the Minister for her reply and the positivity contained within that. Is the Minister aware that, provided that Treasury approval is provided, we can convert the half-way horse tram into a full horse tram for the 150th anniversary year next year?
The Minister for Infrastructure (Dr Haywood): Thank you, Mr President. In fact, I am more than aware. I have done the deal with Manx Radio. It will stop calling it the half-way horse tram if we manage to deliver the extension.
