“Issue of Concrete Raised in Tynwald”

‘Issues with the red concrete used in the redevelopment of Douglas promenade were raised during Tynwald.

Douglas East MHK Clare Barber says she is not satisfied with a description by Department of Infrastructure member Tim Baker that the cracking is minor.

Ms Barber's comments followed a Tynwald debate into the government support being offered to businesses affected by the scheme.

She says the term 'minor' was not convincing.

The reports can be found on the government's freedom of information site by searching for 'defective concrete Douglas promenade'.

John Moss's full interview with Ms Barber and her fellow Douglas East MHK, Chris Robertshaw, can be heard HERE.

He began by asking Mr Robertshaw about some of the points he raised during the debate about government support for the businesses on the prom. '
