That's the belief of the secretary of the Manx Electric Railway Society. Julian Nutter who was responding on this morning's (5th December) Mandate programme to the latest Promenade redevelopment plans put forward by Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer which recommend the renewal of twin horse tram tracks in the centre of the road but just between Broadway and Summerhill.
It's claimed there is no economic or operational benefit in running the tramway the full length of the prom. Mr Nutter says Mr Harmer is going back on what Tynwald agreed before the General Election.
