The first car to carry passengers, operated along the Douglas Horse Tramway on the afternoon of Thursday April 6th. The special operated in conjunction with the formal opening of the sixth CAMRA Isle of Man Beer and Cider Festival. Double deck Car No.18 was used to convey the Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney and other invited guests, from Derby Castle to the Villa Marina where the festival was being held. Once the guests had disembarked, Car 18 carried on to the Sea Terminal, where it turned for the return journey back to Strathallan Depot.
